These three certifications are all obtained via different methods and result in different types of certifications. Many organizations will have a specified standard of how they want their employees to be certified and what they accept. Thus, they are tracked independently so we can ensure employees are following the standards they require.
HeartCode Certification
The HeartCode Certification course is blended learning - caregivers take an online portion and then attend a live-person training to obtain the HeartCode certification and unique eCard, which changes each time it is renewed. That HeartCode is good for 2 years.
HeartCode eCards are assigned only one expiration date, the 2-year date, which EverCheck captures and uses for system notifications.

Heart Cards
Second, is the fully live, 2-year American Heart Association (AHA) training which results in a unique eCard number. The eCard number is unique for each certification (BLS, ACLS, etc) and changes when renewed.
Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Finally, the RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement) Quarterly assessments, result in an eCredential number, which does not change. RQI is technically not issued by the American Heart Association, they are issued by RQI Partners. According to RQI's website, the certification ensures "the learner has demonstrated competence in the gold standard of high-quality CPR mastery by the American Heart Association," following AHA's curriculum.
